Thirty-five delegates from Greece, other European countries and Asia participated in the second intensive two week training course in laboratory animal science at the Alexander Fleming Research Centre, Vari, Greece. The course, which is a joint venture between the University of Utrecht and The Alexander Fleming Research Centre, meets with the Federation of European Laboratory Animal Science Associations, (FELASA) category C requirements.
With the focus on laboratory rodents, the course included seminars, lectures and practical training on European legislation, ethics of research, experimental techniques pathology and research paper preparation The training was delivered in English by both expert in-house lecturers and visiting lecturers from other European countries and the USA. Further courses are planned yearly.
